Firefly’s the place on Sydney’s North Shore to celebrate Melbourne Cup Lunch.
It really is a race that stops a nation. Although it wasn’t so long ago us Sydney siders downed tools at 3pm to watch the race then returned straight back to work afterward.
Times have changed and we now treat Cup Day with the same grand sense of occasion as our Melbournian counterparts. We’ve come to appreciate that it’s not just a horse race, it’s Race Day. A legitimate excuse for ladies to frock up, for men to don their suits and for all of us to spend the day at lunch punting, preening, and clinging on to our dignities for dear life.
And so should we celebrate! We are talking about the richest turf race on the planet with an impressive $6 million dollars in prize money and $340 million in bets. We do love to look stylish whilst celebrating – forking out more than $52 million on fashion and retail. And we do like a beverage – consuming the equivalent of four Olympic sized swimming pools of alcohol between breakfast and dinner!

Our Exec Chef Zac Stanning hails from the original Jamie Oliver’s in Shoreditch, reporting directly to the man himself. Chef Zac has curated a six course sharing banquet menu featuring the best of the best of our menu, brimming with flavour and abundance. Here it is;

Perhaps the most important component to ensure a successful and most enjoyable Race Day luncheon which is why we give it so much attention.
We know you’ll arrive parched which is why we will have a complimentary cocktail awaiting you to immediately quench that thirst. Every year our welcome cocktail has the same name – “The Final Furlong” however every year we alter the recipe to maintain a sense of mystery and keep things interesting. We will be be releasing photos of ‘The Final Furlong’ on our Insta along with a few hints as to its ingredients. Todays hint; it will be champagne based with aromatic flower. And a good glug of booze.
For your continued drinking pleasure we’ll be pouring no less than three roses` on top of our usual strong wine offering of twenty five by the glass. Our craft beer fridge will be crammed full and set to “icy cold” and our bespoke cocktail menu will only be exceeded by your imagination to order anything your desire.
