MULLED WINE SEASON IS NOW ON.
The Austrians are certainly an industrious bunch.
Aside from making the movie ‘The Sound of Music’ they also single handedly invented one of the best drinks known to mankind- Warm Spiced Wine. Or gluewein, mulled wine, or any of the other plethora of names that abound for that delicious melding of red wine, a multitude of spices and brandy.
Granted we don’t have winter Christmas markets or snow to complete the gluwwein picture, but we do have Baked Brie..
Our warm spiced wine recipe incorporates cloves, cinnamon, allspice, cardamom, fresh vanilla pods, orange peel, star anise, and yes, lots of red wine.
We finish it with a good glug of PISCO – Peruvian Brandy just for good measure.
You’ll find our warm spiced wine simmering away at the end of the bar, just follow your nose to the Christmas-ey smells.
